Voidwraith

Voidwraiths are the terrifying spawn of Blackhole.
They are what starsprites become when corrupted by other voidwraiths, or consumed by Blackhole himself. With all the light rended from them, they are reborn as mindless, demonic hell-spawns. Once transformed, they are driven only by hunger, and by a need to hunt down their former brethren and join their dark master in snuffing out the last of Galaxy’s light, forever.
Biology and appearance
Voidwraiths are small, dense, black creatures with writhing tentacles, a massive gaping mouth with teeth on all sides, and sharp claws tipped in fiery orange and red. Ghastly black veins crawl from their base up through their tentacles and claws. Spikes along their tentacles allow them to rip and tear into planets, much like Blackhole himself, though it takes many more of them to do so.
Though they start small, voidwraiths grow as they consume starsprites or other stars. Eventually, they transform into massive black holes. At that stage, they can reproduce themselves to create more voidwraith spawns, spreading their corruption and darkness across the cosmos.
Society and culture
Voidwraiths are mindless creatures with no culture or society. They drift through space in search of starsprites to consume. Alone, they aren’t particularly threatening, but – in their dreadful hordes – they become highly dangerous. They can even consume planets; not whole, as their master Blackhole does, but by tearing apart terrain, rocks, molten lava, and eventually, the planet’s core. Because of their small size, this process takes a long time, resulting in a more torturous end for that planet’s unfortunate residents.
Voidwraiths travel in their hordes, and can merge with one another if they attempt to consume each other. They lack self-awareness, meaning their intelligence is purely instinctual. Their only drive is to consume, and they can starve to death if food is scarce.
They do not form relationships with other beings. Everything in their path is potential food. Voidwraiths are extremely aggressive, attacking anything that crosses their path, and they primarily target starsprites, which are their natural prey. They are drawn to Galaxy’s light, and they are single-mindedly driven to seek it out.
Strengths
Despite their size, voidwraiths are one of the toughest and deadliest beasts in the galaxy. They can tear anything apart with their jaws, and they cannot be killed by any means that mortalkind possess. They need neither air nor water, and despite being bound to Blackhole, they act independently of their master. They do not feel hot or cold, and they do not know pain. They have no emotions, and they cannot be manipulated or swayed from their purpose. Their ability enables them to suck in objects over long distances, and they can consume just about anything without penalty.
Weaponisation
Voidwraiths are often captured and weaponised by cultists from the Order of the Event Horizon to wreak havoc.
With careful planning and knowledge, these unholy creatures can be contained and put to use, but never without great difficulty. Event Horizon know that voidwraiths will never be obedient or friendly, yet they revere them as sacred beings sent to them by their god, Blackhole. To the cult, voidwraiths represent the next step in evolution, and a means to purge all suffering and heresy from the galaxy. Members of Event Horizon frequently keep them in explosive containers, unleashing them on planets to spread terror in the name of Blackhole.
Weaknesses
Voidwraiths have only one true weakness: Galaxy’s powers. Her abilities are the only force capable of completely eradicating them. When struck by Galaxy’s purifying light, voidwraiths vanish without a trace. Starsprites, whilst not as powerful as their mother, still carry the remnants of Galaxy’s strength. Though voidwraiths are more aggressive and physically stronger than them, starsprites can still hold their ground. With skill, and with careful use of their powers, they can still stand a fighting chance against the void.
