Prismoon

Prismoons are a species from a mystical planet of colour and rainbows.

Biology and appearance

Prismoons are vibrant, colourful creatures. They are squishy-bodied, having no bones. Their forms are malleable, enabling them to take on any shape they choose, and they come in many different colours. Whilst multi-coloured, each prismoon has one primary colour, and this colour determines its diet. For example, a red prismoon must consume foods that are red. When two prismoons of different primary colours reproduce, the resulting offspring’s primary colour is a mixture of its parents’ primary colours.

All prismoons have the ability to produce paint from their fingertips.

Society and culture

Prismoons naturally feel most at home in places that share their primary colour. A purple prismoon, for example, will be most comfortable in a place that is very purple. Choosing an environment into which they can easily blend helps them hide to from predators.

They love to seek out dull, colourless lands. Whenever they find them, they use their paint to fill them with colour. Prismoons are highly creative and expressionistic, and their works are always a reflection of their vibrant personalities. They usually live peacefully, but they will defend their territory if another prismoon of a different colour threatens it.

Prismoons are an intelligent species who have found their way into outer space. Many wander across the galaxy, searching for rocky, lifeless planets that Galaxy has left plain. Whilst they cannot create oceans, plants, or animals, they can paint the skies and landscapes, turning them into works of art. From afar, their handiwork shines in the night sky, visible to anyone who peers through a telescope.

Strengths

Prismoons have many strengths. With their boneless bodies, they can slip easily into tight spaces, and they can use their paints in numerous ways. Their paint isn’t just for decoration; it is also a weapon. They might splash paint in an enemy’s face to blind them, or squirt it to create a distraction. Prismoons are also excellent at camouflage, blending into their surroundings to stay safe or sneak up on others.

Weaknesses

Although quick, prismoons have soft bodies that are easily injured. They can only eat foods and drink liquids that match their original colour. Consuming anything else will make them sick. Because of their bright colours, they also stand out in most environments, making the prismoons easy targets for predators.
