Hey Kinoko fans!

For anyone coming to our website who doesn’t already know, we finally released the first public version of our playable demo on 1st March, via our Discord community. Having then worked our way through all the first wave of feedback and bug reports, we quickly released a second version a couple of days later on 3rd March. Today, we’re making that demo publicly available right here on our website – so go and grab yourself a copy!

The current version of our demo is the 0.1.1 release, dated 3rd March 2025. That’s the very same one that we shared already on Discord earlier this month, so you don’t need to download it again if you’ve already got it. I’m hard at work now on some of the features which will eventually make their way into our next release, although, with all the known bugs out of the way with our last version, we’re going to be taking our time with this one, and making sure it’s worth downloading and replaying. In the meantime, all the information you need to get your hands on and enjoy version 0.1.1 can be found in our website’s new demo section.

We’re both extremely grateful for all the feedback we’ve received from our community so far, and we’re still open to any and all suggestions. The in-game pause menu of our demo has buttons for quick access to our feedback forms and community Discord server, so please do take the opportunity to let us know what you think.

Chelsey’s currently taking a long-planned and much-needed break from the game’s development to spend time on some personal stuff, however I’ve recently begun making some major changes to the starsprites system. That whole facility is very unfinished in our current demo release, so naturally there’s been some confusion as to what their role in the game actually is. That ought to become abundantly clear once we release our next demo, which will have a greater focus on the starsprites, but I’ll hopefully also be able to write a blog post update on what’s changing in the next few weeks too.

Until then, all that remains for this short update is to offer our enormous thanks to every one of you out there who has played our demo so far, sharing with us your ideas and feedback and letting us know about all the bugs you’ve found (version 0.1.0 was full of those). We wouldn’t be in the position we’re in right now without all your excellent support, and so I repeat – thank you!
