2D Sprite Artist/Animator

Cult of Galaxy, a small independent UK-based studio, is looking for a talented and passionate 2D sprite artist/animator to join the Star Heretic team on a freelance basis. If you have a knack for producing 2D animated sprites to an exceptionally high standard and a passion for 2D games, we want to hear from you!

This is a paid freelance role. You set your own rates per piece of work offered.

Requirements

To be considered for the position of freelance 2D sprite artist/animator, you will need:

• A portfolio or animation reel demonstrating proven experience in 2D sprite art and animation.
• Strong artistic ability and design skills with an eye for detail.
• Proficiency in Adobe Animate (preferred) or similar.
• The ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Strong communication skills.
• A passion for games and the desire to put your stamp on an exciting new project.

A particularly strong application would also benefit from:

• Prior experience of working in video games.
• Ability to communicate over Discord.

All work submitted must be entirely your own creation. Use of AI-generated content or work created by others will not be accepted.

Additionally, you must be 18+ and legally able to sign contracts under your full legal name. For verification purposes, you must be able to provide government-issued ID (e.g. passport or driving license) matching the name on your contracts. All personal information will be handled securely and used only for contract and payment processing.
